Democrats Vote ACORN Into Regulatory Status

As reported on the Women's Republican Party of Texas website:

Democrats Vote ACORN Into Regulatory Status

The repeated, nationwide exposure of ACORN as a thoroughly corrupt organization (so far, in Baltimore, DC, New York, San Bernardino, San Diego and Philadelphia) evidently hasn't dented the Democrats' enthusiasm for it. On Monday, Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee voted to pass an amendment offered by Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) that will make ACORN eligible to play a role in setting regulations for financial institutions.

Yes, you read that right. The Democrats voted to give ACORN - an organization caught in numerous instances of voter fraud and exposed attempting to give assistance to what its office workers believed were child sex slave traffickers with political ambitions - a serious regulatory role. According to Republicans on the House Financial Services Committee:

The Waters amendment adds to the CFPA Oversight Board 5 representatives from the fields of "consumer protection, fair lending and civil rights, representatives of depository institutions that primarily serve underserved communities, or representatives of communities that have been significantly impacted by higher-priced mortgages" to join Federal banking regulators in advising the Director on the consistency of proposed regulations, and strategies and policies that the Director should undertake to enforce its rules.

By making representatives of ACORN and other consumer activist organizations eligible to serve on the Oversight Board, the amendment creates a potentially enormous government sanctioned conflict of interest. ACORN-type organizations will have an advisory role on regulating the very financial institutions from which they receive millions of dollars annually in direct corporate contributions and benefit from other financial partnerships and arrangements. These are the same organizations that pressured banks to make subprime mortgage loans and thus bear a major responsibility for the collapse of the housing market.

The Democrats promised to deliver "the most ethical Congress ever." They have totally betrayed that promise, chosing on the one hand to protect Rep. Charlie Rangel as Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee even while he's investigated for tax evasion, and on the other hand now voting to give the rotten-to-the-core ACORN regulatory authority over financial institutions. ACORN should be investigated, not elevated into any position of authority. The Democrats aren't even hiding their arrogance and utter contempt for the rule of law anymore.

WASHINGTON-TURN THE WATER ON!!!!!!

PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION AND PASS IT ALONG TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CO-WORKERS.

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/turnthewateron/

This petiton is sponsored by all red blooded Americans that are outraged by the actions of our government to put the rights of a 2-inch fish above the rights of our fellow citizens in California.

For those of you that aren't aware of the plight of our fellow citizens in California, PLEASE take some time to watch the special that Sean Hannity did in September. What is happening is unconscionable. Our Federal Government has decided that the rights of a 2-inch fish are more important than the rights of our fellow citizens in California. The water to their farms has been turned off and their once robust farms have been reduced to dust.

This is one of 5 clips that you will find links to on the petition:

OBAMA ADMINISTRATION WANTS TO CONTROL THE INTERNET AND AIRWAVES

The vote is expected to take place this week with the FCC trying to push through net neutrality. If this passes, thousands will lose their jobs and millions of people will be duped into thinking this is a good thing for the consumer when the underlying motive is to control what you will have access to and when. THIS SCARES THE CRAP OUT OF ME!!!!

AMERICA WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE ABOUT TO BE CONTROLLED AND YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW IT!

2 INCH FISH DEEMED TO HAVE MORE RIGHTS THAN THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE IN CALIFORNIA

I never dreamed that in my lifetime I would actually have to explain to my children and my 5 year old granddaughter that a 2" fish is deemed to have more rights than thousands of people. This doesn't seem possible. It is a travesty and an outright violation of human rights. Please sign this petition to get our voices heard.

Would You Let SEIU Come Between You and Your Child?

From the website of Governor candidate Dan Proft:

Dan Calls on Gov. Quinn to Rescind Executive Order

October 2, 2009

Can you imagine a public sector union coming between you and your child?

Well, that’s precisely what families with disabled children in Illinois are facing if Gov. Quinn does not rescind an executive order he issued which would unionize personal support workers of disabled children in Illinois. Often these personal support workers are the parents themselves!

Prior to Gov. Quinn’s intrusion, the program in question was a rare state program that actually worked. Currently, money flows to the families and the families control how the money is spent to best serve the individual needs of their child. This program saved taxpayer dollars and kept children with challenges closer to their families while enhancing their quality of life.

Yesterday, several courageous families stood with me to stand against the bullies in SEIU and AFSCME, the intended beneficiaries of Gov. Quinn’s Executive Order.

Please watch this is video. The first speaker on this video is Ellen Bronfeld. The second speaker is Gordon Stiefel. Both are parents of disabled children who fear the deterioration of services for their children if Gov. Quinn’s Executive Order is not rescinded.

This cynical move by Gov. Quinn is nothing more than a payoff to the public sector unions that finance his campaign. Quinn has taken more than $140,000 in campaign cash from SEIU and AFSCME.

I joined these families in calling on Gov. Quinn to rescind this blatant power grab on behalf of his financers. It is time someone stood up to politicians like Quinn and the union bullies. The families of disabled children in Illinois should be especially thankful for the courage shown by the Bronfeld, Stiefel, Schwartz, and Withers families who stepped forward to bring this issue to light.

We, as Republicans, need to take the fight to the public sector unions on behalf of the most vulnerable. For too long, Republicans in Illinois have gone along to get along. They have been complicit with public sector unions who have had the run of this state at taxpayer expense while people who play by the rules have been fleeced to finance the status quo.

If we’re going to call on others to cut ties from SEIU, then we should begin by doing so ourselves. Which is why I have called on my Republican primary opponents and all Republican party organizations to stop accepting campaign cash from SEIU and AFSCME. If we want to present a comprehensive, conservative reform agenda to Illinois voters, we need to do so with clean hands. We cannot do that if we are on the dole of SEIU and AFSCME.

If we are serious about protecting and providing for the most vulnerable in our society, then we define and defend our constituency. We must stand with families of disabled children playing by the rules to provide for their children and against the cynical ploys of Chicago Democrats to rig the system for the benefit of SEIU and AFSCME union bosses.

HARRY REID..$54 BILLION IN SAVINGS WITH TORT REFORM IS JUST A SMALL PERCENT

HARRY REID: "He talked about CBO saying that there would be $54 billion saved each year if we put caps on medical malpractice and put some restrictions — tort reform — $54 billion. Sounds like a lot of money, doesnt it, Mr. President? The answer is yes. But remember, were talking about $2 trillion, $54 billion compared to $2 trillion. You can do the math. We can all do the math. Its a very small percent."

OREGON APARTMENT BANS THE AMERICAN FLAG

By Melica Johnson KATU News and KATU.com Staff Video

ALBANY, Ore. - At the Oaks Apartments in Albany, the management can fly their own flag advertising one and two bedroom apartments - but residents have been told they can't fly any flags at all.

Jim Clausen flies the American flag from the back of his motorcycle. He has a son in the military heading back to Iraq, and the flag - he said - is his way of showing support.

"This flag stands for all those people," said Clausen, an Oaks Apartment resident. "It stands for the people that can no longer stand - who died in wars. That's why I fly this flag."

But to Oaks Apartment management, Clausen said, the American flag symbolizes problems.

He was told to remove the red, white and blue from both of his rides, or face eviction.

"It floored me," he said. "I can't believe she was saying what she was saying."

Even long-time residents like Sharron White, who has flown a flag on her car for eight years, has been told to take it down.

White said management told her that "someone might get offended."

"I just said to her 'They'll just have to get over it,'" White said.

Resident we talked to who had been approached to take down their flags all told us the same thing: that management told them the flags could be offensive because they live in a diverse community.

Attempts to find out for ourselves why management would ban flags were unsuccessful. KATU wanted to talk to management at Oaks Apartments, but no one has returned our calls. The woman we were told had made the decision said she was "not going to answer any questions."

The mother of one soldier fighting in Iraq put up a poster in her son's apartment window when she learned of the ban. Her son's roommate said he'll risk eviction to make sure it stays.

Another Oaks Apartment resident, Judith Sherer, doesn't have a car. Instead she carries an American flag around the complex to protest the ban, and wonders if the flag pin she wears is next to be "singled out."

"If I put it on and I walk outside, what's going to happen?" Sherer muses. "Am I going to be confronted by a manager about this?"

We're told the ban includes sports flags and even flag stickers on cars

If this ticks you off as much as it does me.........let them know.
